ShoreTel's distributed software architecture provide entreprise-class reliability. No matter what the size of your deployment, you can expect reliability that exceeds the most stringent measure of availability commonly used today - five 9's or 99,999% - while enjoying low cost of ownership and streamlined, centralized management.

ShoreGear switches use the VxWorks operating system, which guarantees a stable environment.

ShoreGear switches do not contain moving parts, which increases reliability and life expactancy.

Scalability

The ShoreTel infrastructure can be extended when required, without a need to renew everything thus minimizing the cost. Even phone numbers can be configured in the ShoreWare Director so it is a minimal effort to change your phone number.

All hardware and software released by ShoreTel are still supported. At regular intervals, old switches will be replaced for free by new switches.
